Chris was elected to City Council in May or 2007, appointed Mayor Pro Tem June of 2008 and has remained the Mayor Pro Tem at the current time and won his re election in May of 2010 with 74% of the vote.
Chris was raised in the small town of Gainesville Texas, north of Dallas. Gainesville is a little smaller than Leander with about 15,000 in population. During High School, Chris was active in his church music program, a state officer in the Order of Demolay, and percussion section leader with the band as well as playing drums for a 15 piece "Big Band" orchestra. Chris also was an active participant in helping with several local elections of City Council, this is where he first understood the definition of giving back to your community.
After graduating in the top 10% of his High School class, Chris did his undergraduate studies at Tarleton State University in Stephenville where he secured a full Music Scholarship.
After College, Chris worked for the second largest music store in the State of Texas where he helped to grow this business before going out on his own and starting up his own company in Dallas and Corpus Christi. Chris has always worked in or with small growing companies.
Chris moved to the Austin area in 1999 where he married his wife MaShon and then moved to Leander in 2003 where he and his wife instantly became involved in the community. MaShon is the Council President of PTA for the Leander School District, a board member of the Twin Lakes YMCA and spends countless hours involved in the community including the Alliance Home Owners Association and various other local activities. Chris is a board member of the William County Childrens Advocacy Center where he is involved with helping children as well as a board member on the BCRUA Water Board.
Chris has graduated from the Leander Citizens Fire Academy and Leander Citizens Police Academy and a member of the Alumi Association as well.
Chris and MaShon are members of Hill Country Bible Church NW where they have been active in several capacities including backyard bible club hosting in their backyard. Chris and MaShon are blessed with two wonderful children Hailey age 9 and Christian age 7 who are also involved in the AWANA program at HCBC.
Chris is an independent business consultant and owner of 360 Equipment Finance, LLC where he works with small to medium business owners to help acquire financing for equipment needs. Chris helps customers realize their business dreams. He is an active leader within the Leasing Community and a recognized speaker nationally where he conducts sales and training seminars. Chris has also published a book on sales techniques, "Never Say Buy Never Say Sell".
Chris and his family are dedicated to improving and maintaining the quality of life in Leander.
